The Atlantic District, a Norfolk, Virginia–based insurance team, is seeking an Insurance Sales Agent to help local families and businesses protect what matters. We pride ourselves on honest advice, a friendly approach, and long-term partnerships with clients.

You will evaluate needs, explain policy details clearly, develop new business through community engagement and referrals, review accounts for changing life circumstances, and maintain accurate records for personalized follow-up.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Property and Casualty Insurance License.
• 3+ years of consultative sales or customer service experience.
• Ability to manage a pipeline of prospective clients.
• Experience with agency management systems and digital documentation.
• Residency in or near Norfolk, Virginia.
• Local networking or community involvement is a plus.

Responsibilities

Evaluate the specific insurance needs of individuals and families to provide customized protection plans.

Conduct professional consultations to explain complex policy details in clear, understandable language.

Develop and maintain a steady flow of new business through local community engagement and referrals.

Review existing client accounts periodically to ensure coverage stays aligned with their changing life circumstances.

Collaborate with our office team to streamline the onboarding process for new policyholders.

Maintain accurate records of client interactions to ensure personalized follow-up and long-term care.

Requirements

Active Virginia Property and Casualty Insurance License.

Three or more years of experience in consultative sales or customer service.

Demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline of prospective clients.

Strong comfort level with digital documentation and agency management systems.

Residency in or near Norfolk, Virginia.

Background in local networking or community involvement is a plus.
