Job summary

Commonpoint is seeking a Youth Worker to support afterschool programming, ensuring a safe, engaging environment for youth. You will assist with supervision, activities, and daily operations under program leadership.

Youth Worker will help deliver academic, enrichment, SEL, leadership, recreation, literacy, and STEM activities, while collaborating with staff and partners. Part-time, in-person hours after school.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent OR at least one year of experience working with children under 13.
• Staff must be at least 18 years old to supervise participants independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise participants during program hours, transitions, trips, and events.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment following agency safety procedures.
• Support positive behavior using restorative approaches.
• Assist with activity setup, materials, and homework help as assigned.
• Support attendance procedures and program documentation.
• Collaborate with staff and school partners to ensure effective operations.
• Participate in meetings, training, and coaching.
