Job summary

Commonpoint in New York is seeking a Youth Worker to support afterschool programming, creating a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for youth. You will supervise participants, assist with activity setup, and help deliver academic, enrichment, and SEL activities alongside program leadership.

This part-time, in-person role reports to the Program Director and offers opportunities to build relationships with youth, families, and school partners while upholding safety policies and agency

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age and able to obtain background clearances.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with youth.
• Able to work collaboratively with staff and partners.
• Flexible and reliable to support afterschool programming.

Responsibilities

• Supervise participants during afterschool hours and activities.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive environment and follow safety procedures.
• Help implement academic, enrichment, SEL, leadership, recreation, literacy, and STEM activities.
• Assist with setup, cleanup, and homework support as assigned.
• Support family events, field trips, and program operations.
