Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring an Afterschool Site Lead in Katy, TX for a part-time role in licensed school-age programs. Base pay is $14.00 per hour, with a temporary $3.00 per hour stipend for eligible locations serving Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD.

This stipend is in addition to base pay and may be adjusted or discontinued based on funding. As Site Lead you will manage daily operations, ensure safety and licensing compliance, build relationships with families and schools, and

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; minimum 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development or related field; two college courses are equivalent to 100 clock hours.
• At least one year of experience working with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state and FBI background checks.
• TB test and health screenings per state/local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe by maintaining supervision, headcounts, attendance, and emergencies per policies.
• Oversee afterschool site operations as designated Site Director and ensure licensing compliance.
• Supervise staff, monitor policy adherence, and provide guidance as needed.
• Implement positive behavior management and address issues constructively.
• Ensure program planning, safety drills, postings, and sanitation standards.
• Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities per YMCA curriculum.
• Engage families and school partners; maintain positive communication.
• Maintain enrollment/attendance records and other administrative duties.
• Support program growth, enrollment trends, and continuous improvement.
• Lead program quality improvements and participate in evaluation processes.
• Adhere to child protection, health, safety, and confidentiality policies.
