Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead in Texas City to supervise a licensed school-age program. You’ll ensure safety, coordinate operations, and implement YMCA curricula in a supportive team environment.

The role emphasizes strong communication with families, licensing compliance, and building relationships with schools and YMCA staff. This is a part-time, hourly position with opportunities for growth within youth development.

Qualifications

• 21+ years old with high school level education or GED.
• 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development, recreational leadership or management.
• At least 1 year of experience with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR/First Aid/AED and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe with vigilant supervision and accurate attendance.
• Serve as Texas Site Director and oversee daily operations of the afterschool program.
• Ensure licensing compliance and maintain records and incident reports.
• Plan, implement and adapt age-appropriate activities within YMCA curricula.
• Engage families and community partners to promote program growth.
