Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to direct a licensed school-age program, ensuring safety, engagement, and quality. You will coordinate daily operations, implement YMCA curricula, and maintain strict attendance and licensing compliance.

You will build strong relationships with families, school partners, and staff, oversee site setup, and lead program planning and supervision to foster growth and high-quality experiences for children.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; relevant training counts toward requirements.
• 70 clock hours of training in child/youth development, recreational leadership or management.
• 1 year of experience with youth in a licensed setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Pass state/local background checks and health screenings as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensed before/after school program and ensure children are safe and engaged.
• Coordinate daily operations and YMCA curriculum across activities.
• Maintain licensing compliance and oversee site safety and records.
• Build strong relationships with families, school partners, and YMCA staff.
• Plan activities, supervise staff, and manage enrollment and attendance.
• Communicate program progress and concerns to the Program Director.
