Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead in a part-time role in Houston, TX. You will lead a licensed school-age program, ensure safety, and coordinate daily operations while engaging families and staff.

You’ll implement the YMCA curriculum, monitor licensing compliance, and supervise site activities with a focus on child development and safety. A $3/hr stipend applies to eligible locations.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old.
• High school diploma or GED with 70 hours training in child/youth development or management.
• 1+ year of experience with youth in a licensed setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Background checks and FBI fingerprinting required.
• TB test and health screenings per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead licensed school-age enrichment program and ensure safety and engagement.
• Coordinate daily program operations and YMCA curriculum.
• Maintain licensing compliance and relationships with families and partners.
• Oversee site operations as Site Director and manage site/equipment.
• Conduct safety drills and inspections; ensure required postings.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and adapt as needed.
• Communicate with parents about progress and concerns.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Monitor enrollment trends and drive program growth.
• Lead program quality and evaluation processes.
• Report concerns per policy and ensure safety.
