Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is hiring for an Afterschool Site Lead to oversee a licensed school-age enrichment program in our Before/After School Programs. You’ll lead daily operations, ensure safety, implement YMCA curriculum, and build strong relationships with families and school partners.

You’ll manage program activities, staff, and licensing compliance while promoting a safe, engaging environment that supports children and families every day.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED; 70 clock hours in youth development or recreation.
• Experience with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED and Child Abuse Prevention certifications or ability to obtain.
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Able to pass background checks and FBI fingerprinting.
• Current TB test and health screenings per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe with supervision, headcounts, and proper attendance records.
• Serve as Texas Licensing Site Director and oversee daily afterschool operations.
• Ensure safety, maintain records, and monitor staff adherence to policies.
• Apply positive behavior management and promote respect and inclusion.
• Coordinate program planning, curriculum, and activities per YMCA model.
• Engage parents and community; communicate progress and concerns.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records; manage sign-in/out.
• Drive program growth, retention, and enrollment trends.
• Ensure program quality, safety audits, and compliance.
• Adhere to health, safety, and confidentiality policies; report concerns.
