Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to oversee a licensed school-age program, ensuring safety, engagement, and program quality. You’ll implement the YMCA curriculum, monitor licensing compliance, and build strong relationships with families, school partners, and staff.

This part-time role covers Before/After School and seasonal Camp schedules. The site leads collaborate with the Program Director to maintain a nurturing environment and deliver high-quality youth

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 70 clock hours in child/youth development.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with youth in a licensed setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan and implement age-appropriate activities and programming.
• Experience with diverse populations and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Keep Children Safe by supervising and maintaining attendance records.
• Site Management and licensing compliance for the afterschool program.
• Supervision and Safety of children and staff at the site.
• Behavior Management to promote a respectful environment.
• Program & Policy Compliance with health, safety and confidentiality standards.
• Program Planning and Implementation of YMCA curriculum.
• Parent and Community Engagement with timely updates.
• Administrative Duties including enrollment and rosters.
• Program Growth and Retention strategies to boost enrollment.
• Program Quality and Evaluation to ensure adherence to standards.
• Child Abuse Prevention and reporting per policy.
