Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to champion a licensed school-age program, ensuring safety, engagement, and high-quality activities. You’ll coordinate daily operations, implement YMCA curriculum, and build strong relationships with families, school partners, and staff.

Role requires 21+ years old, relevant experience, and certifications; it offers part-time hours and a temporary $3.00 per hour stipend for eligible locations, with opportunities for growth in youth

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or GED with specified training hours.
• At least 1 year of youth experience in licensed settings.
• CPR/First Aid/AED and Child Abuse Prevention certifications, or ability to obtain.
• Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Pass background checks including FBI fingerprinting.
• TB test and required health screenings per regulations.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe with supervision, attendance, and emergency responsiveness.
• Serve as Texas Site Director, oversee daily afterschool operations.
• Ensure safety and monitor staff adherence to policies.
• Apply positive behavior management for a respectful environment.
• Ensure licensing compliance and program policy adherence.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities per YMCA curriculum.
• Engage with parents and community; communicate progress and concerns.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records; assist with program growth.
• Lead program quality assessments and evaluations; address issues promptly.
• Support child abuse prevention and safety reporting.
