Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking an Afterschool Site Lead to manage a licensed school-age enrichment program in the Katy area. You will ensure children are safe, engaged, and supported daily, coordinating program operations, licensing compliance, and strong family relationships.

The role requires leadership experience, 21+ age, a high school diploma or GED with relevant training, and CPR/First Aid/AED certifications (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED with 70 clock hours training in child or youth development, recreational leadership or management.
• One year of experience with youth in licensed settings.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention certifications (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Pass state and local background checks and FBI fingerprinting requirements.
• TB test and health screenings/immunizations as required.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe with active supervision and accurate attendance records.
• Oversee daily afterschool program operations and site compliance with licensing and YMCA standards.
• Ensure safety, supervision, and proper behavior management at all times.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities per YMCA curriculum.
• Engage families, school partners, and YMCA staff to support program success.
• Maintain enrollment/attendance records and support program growth and retention.
• Promote program quality and conduct regular safety drills and inspections.
• Adhere to health, safety, confidentiality, and child protection policies.
