Job summary

After-School All-Stars LA is seeking a part-time Program Leader for the Los Angeles area to support after-school enrichment for K-12 students. You will lead planning with the Program Coordinator, supervise activities, and ensure a safe, engaging environment focused on academic and cultural growth.

Responsibilities include maintaining a 20:1 ratio, coordinating with school staff and guardians, and attending required meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in recreational, educational or community outreach settings.
• Ability to work cooperatively with school staff, parents and community leaders.
• Must be 18 years of age; TB clearance and fingerprinting.
• HS diploma/GED with acceptable higher-ed alternatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under the Program Coordinator.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop positive relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff to increase program visibility.
• Track attendance data and program progress as part of QA processes.
• Create a safe, engaging enrichment environment with needed supplies and materials.
• Facilitate age-appropriate active learning experiences.
• Supervise students during activities and field trips.
• Communicate with staff and guardians about activities and outcomes.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development.
• Assist with supper/snack distribution and space maintenance.
• Ensure program materials/equipment are in good condition.
• Travel to various sites for meetings and events as needed.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
