Job summary

After School All-Stars LA is seeking a part-time Program Leader in Los Angeles. The role supports leadership and safe, enriching after-school experiences in a school setting, with afternoons 2:00pm-6:30pm and travel as needed.

The position requires experience with youth in K-12, collaboration with school staff and families, and the ability to supervise activities, maintain safety, and deliver engaging, culturally enriching programs. Fluency in another language is welcome.

Qualifications

• Experience with students in K-12 in recreational/educational settings.
• Ability to work with school staff, parents, and community leaders.
• Pass ASAS-LA Instructional Aide exam or have two years of higher education or an Associate's degree or higher.
• Fingerprint clearance and TB test clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under the Program Coordinator.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio through recruitment and retention efforts.
• Develop positive relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff to increase program visibility.
• Provide attendance tracking data and report program progress as part of QA process.
• Create a creative environment with academic, cultural, and recreational activities and prepare supplies.
• Supervise students to ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive atmosphere.
• Communicate with staff and guardians about activities, needs, and events.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development, and participate in field trips and off-site events.
