Job summary

After-School All-Stars in Los Angeles is seeking a Part-Time Program Leader to provide leadership and support in academic, cultural and recreational enrichment for youth after school.

The role requires supervising activities, coordinating with school staff, families, and community partners, and maintaining a safe environment. Evening and weekend availability is expected; travel between sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with K-12 students in recreational/educational settings.
• Ability to collaborate with school staff, parents and community leaders.
• Knowledge of quality criteria for after-school programs.
• Effective communication and crisis response skills.
• Must be 18+ with required clearances or exams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Build positive relationships with youth, guardians and staff.
• Communicate attendance, program progress and concerns to supervisor.
• Prepare supplies and create a creative, engaging learning environment.
• Supervise activities to ensure a safe, supportive environment.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
