Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay is seeking an Assistant Site Coordinator for the Expanded Learning Program. The role supports the Site Coordinator in supervising children and delivering a variety of recreational and educational activities after school.

The position involves attendance tracking, staff supervision, and coordinating monthly activity calendars while maintaining a positive relationship with families and ensuring safety guidelines are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; AA in early childhood development preferred.
• Coursework to meet California licensing standards.
• 2 years of experience in a professional child care or school-aged program.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other computer programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Site Coordinator in developing and implementing a creative program and age-appropriate activities according to YMCA philosophies.
• Operate the program in the absence of the Site Coordinator.
• Maintain supervision and interact with the assigned group at all times.
• Maintain attendance records in compliance with district regulations and file requested forms.
• Follow program standards and behavioral guidelines.
• Comply with safety guidelines and attend trainings.
• Assist in preparation and serving snacks.
• Assist in planning monthly activity calendar and staff trainings.
• Maintain positive relationships with parents of participants.
• Lead by example to maintain a healthy environment for participants.
• Assist in keeping program areas clean and orderly.
• Confer with supervisor regarding suspected child abuse and follow mandated reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
