Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay is seeking an Assistant Site Director to partner with site leadership in supervising staff and delivering recreation and educational activities that support learning and self-esteem.

The role shares responsibility for opening/closing, attendance, data collection, and modeling positive, inclusive environments while maintaining safe, engaging program areas and coordinating with families and school partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; AA in ECD preferred.
• Two years of experience in professional child care or youth programs.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups in the community.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and common computer programs.
• Pre-employment health screening and safety trainings within required timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist site leadership in developing and implementing age-appropriate activities.
• Supervise staff in the absence of site leaders and ensure program operation.
• Maintain attendance, forms, and records for the program.
• Ensure safety compliance and positive behavior management.
• Build relationships with participants, families, school personnel and staff.
• Confer with site leadership regarding suspected child abuse and follow reporting procedures.
