Job summary

The La Central YMCA in the Bronx is seeking a Program Director to lead afterschool and youth development initiatives under the Youth & Family Director. You will supervise a diverse staff, design engaging programming, and ensure compliance with NYC DYCD and OCFS requirements.

This role emphasizes inclusion, mental wellness, budget oversight, community partnerships, and data-driven program evaluation, offering a strong leadership pathway within the YMCA's LEAP framework.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in child development or related field required.
• NYC credential (Administrator or school-age) required or equivalent.
• Two years of college with 18 credits in child development or related field.
• Minimum two years’ experience with children under 13 and at least one year in supervision.

Responsibilities

• Direct programs serving K-5 or 6-8 with DYCD requirements.
• Recruit and retain participants; drive high attendance.
• Develop data-driven measures and evaluations to show program impact.
• Maintain partnerships with schools, funders, and evaluators.
• Lead staff with strong inclusion and mental wellness practices.
• Oversee budgeting, purchasing, and reporting compliance.
• Coordinate SEL curriculum and STEAM/Literacy activities with host schools.
