Job summary

After-School All-Stars Los Angeles is seeking a Part-Time Program Leader to support the daily after-school enrichment program. You will help supervise and guide youth in a safe, engaging environment under the Program Coordinator’s supervision, with responsibilities across academic and recreational activities.

The role requires collaboration with schools, guardians, and staff, plus flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed in the LA area, on-site at school sites.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in recreational, educational and/or community youth outreach setting.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with school district staff, public officials, parents, and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after school programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to incidents and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under the direction of a Program Coordinator.
• Maintain a 20:1 ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff to increase program visibility.
• Communicate with supervisor and provide attendance data, program progress and concerns.
• Prepare materials and create an engaging, safe learning environment.
• Supervise students during activities and ensure safety and support.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• May travel to field trips and events; perform other duties as assigned.
