Job summary

After-School All-Stars LA is seeking a Part-Time Program Leader in Los Angeles, CA. The role involves assisting in leading the daily after-school program, ensuring a safe, engaging environment for K-12 youth, and coordinating with the Program Coordinator.

You will support academic, cultural, and recreational enrichment activities, maintain a 20:1 student ratio, and communicate regularly with school staff and guardians. Evening/weekend availability and travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in recreational, educational and/or community youth outreach setting.
• Ability to work cooperatively with School District staff, public officials, private sector officials, parents, and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after school programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to critical incidents and emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop positive relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff.
• Provide attendance tracking data and program progress to supervisor.
• Create a creative learning environment with academic, cultural, and recreational enrichment.
