Job summary

Our Lady of Mount Carmel School seeks a part-time Caretaker for the After Care Program for 2026-2027. The successful candidate will engage with elementary students after school, plan activities, manage supplies, and support both spiritual and academic growth in a faith-based environment.

Experience with children and a two-year degree are required; willingness to foster a nurturing, inclusive Catholic setting is essential.

Qualifications

• Two year degree required.
• Prior experience working with children.
• Understanding of early childhood development stages.
• Demonstrated ability to implement crafts and recreational activities.
• Commitment to fostering a nurturing, inclusive, and faith-based environment.
• A practicing member of the Catholic faith, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Help create an engaging environment that fosters student creativity and learning.
• Plan recreational and art-based activities, manage supplies, and support students’ spiritual and academic growth.
• Assist with cleanup of supplies, messes, and upkeep of the aftercare space.
• Encourage students to develop self-help skills and independence.
• Play and craft with students.
• Promote positive behavior through redirection and reinforcement; adhere to school policies.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
• This role has a part time schedule of Monday-Friday- 2:15pm-5:30pm
