Qualifications

• AGE: Eighteen years or older.
• EDUCATION: high school diploma or equivalent.
• RELATED EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with school age children in a group setting (preferred).
• SPECIALIZED SKILLS: Strong character values and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Nurtures children through purposeful programming focused on achievement and belonging.
• Maintains close visual supervision of a group of children and adheres to staff ratios.
• Use positive behavior guidance and constructive discipline strategies.
• Promote inclusion and ADA compliance.
• Plan and implement classes around a specific topic and skill mastery; culminate in a showcase.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and program records.
• Engage parents as volunteers and connect them to the YMCA.
• Attend meetings and trainings; support safety and risk management.
