Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking an Instructor for Westchester Family YMCA in Westchester, CA to support youth programs. The role centers on nurturing children, guiding activities, and delivering curriculum designed to foster achievement and belonging.

You will collaborate with parents, staff, and volunteers, ensure safety, follow program standards, and participate in family events and trainings. Part-time up to 29 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Age 18 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with school-age children in group settings preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certifications within 60 days of hire.
• Y-USA Leader Certification, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Nurtures children through purposeful programming building achievement and belonging.
• Maintains visual supervision and adheres to child-staff ratios.
• Redirects behavior using positive, constructive strategies.
• Supports inclusion and ADA compliance where appropriate.
• Plans and implements classes, culminating in a showcase.
• Communicates with parents and engages volunteers.
