Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking an Instructor for youth programs to create a positive, nurturing environment and to guide children through developmentally appropriate activities.

You will plan and lead classes, monitor behavior with positive strategies, and collaborate with parents, staff, and volunteers to foster achievement and belonging within a supportive YMCA setting.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience planning age-appropriate activities for school-age children.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Nurture children through purposeful programming focused on achievement and belonging.
• Supervise and manage a group of children with appropriate ratios.
• Use positive discipline strategies and maintain safe, clean program spaces.
• Engage parents as volunteers and connect them to the YMCA.
• Attend trainings, meetings, and follow YMCA policies and procedures.
