Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is seeking a part-time youth mentor to support educational, enrichment, and recreational activities after school.

Responsibilities include preparing youth for success, implementing and supervising programs, and ensuring safety and quality across club spaces. Candidates should have youth development experience, be 18+, and able to drive if needed. Hours are 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Aug through school year, with summer work possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 600 hours working in a school-age program.
• 3 credits in child development, education, recreation, or related field.
• Employees 19+ may be assigned to the senior program.
• Knowledge of youth development.
• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior.
• Ability to communicate with parents/guardians.
• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Occasional travel for meetings/trainings may be required.
• May drive Club van/short bus (21+).
• Must possess a safe driving record and submit to verification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Youth for Success by delivering age-appropriate day-to-day activities.
• Effectively implements and administers programs, services, and activities for members.
• Monitors and evaluates programs to ensure safety, quality and appearance of the site.
• Ensure program areas are safe, well-ventilated and well-lit; maintain equipment.
• Document problems or issues via injury/incident reports.
• Communicate with child care licensing and DCYF when applicable.
• Participate in staff trainings and meetings.
• Facilitate open and effective communication with families, staff and members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
