Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware is seeking a part-time youth worker to support the school-age childcare program. You will assist with developing and operating a quality after-school program that aligns with Delaware licensing rules and the organization’s Youth Development Strategy.

The role requires shifts Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM–6:00 PM, and candidates must have relevant certifications such as School Age Site Assistant and First Aid/CPR, plus pass background checks.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Must have School AgeSite Assistant Certificate
• 20 years of age or older and ability to drive 8 passenger van (must have valid driver’s license with less than 5 points)
• First Aid/CPR Certification, or completion of certification within two months of date of hire.
• Must possess a School Age Site Coordinator Certificate from the Department of Education
• Must possess a School Age Site Coordinator Administrator certificate from the Department of Education
• All Levels must be able to pass an FBI clearance, State of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse Registry check, and National and State Child Abuse Registry Check per Delacare regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist Childcare or Program Director in effectively delivering a variety of age-appropriate programs and activities, which reflect Boys & Girls Club’s five core program areas and Youth Development Strategy, for children ages 6 – 12.
• Help ensure safe implementation of all programs and activities, including equipment and facilities, age-appropriateness, ability levels, weather, and supplies.
• Assist Childcare or Program Director in supervising children within guidelines established by Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware, and in compliance with state licensing regulations.
• Maintain productive relationships with parents, school faculty and administrators and staff, and other visitors to the Club.
• Present yourself as a positive role model for children at all times.
• Contribute toward development of a positive identity and strong presence for the Boys & Girls Club in the community.
• Assume other tasks, assignments and responsibilities as needed or directed.
• Work hours: Monday- Friday, 3:00 PM -6:00 PM
