Job summary

Woodcraft Rangers in Los Angeles is seeking an Early Learning / TK Program Leader to run Jr. Rangers Club for about 20 children, with hours 1:00 PM–5:00 PM or 1:00 PM–6:00 PM at multiple locations (Echo Park, Pico Union, Koreatown).

This part-time role reports to the Site Coordinator and supports program goals in a positive, inclusive learning environment. You will collaborate with staff and families to plan engaging activities, monitor attendance, and help deliver safe, developmentally

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required; an Associate's Degree in Child Development or related field is preferred.
  • 6 months experience supervising a group of early education aged children in a school or recreational setting, or 6 units in early education/child development.
  • Availability Monday through Friday, 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn new systems.
  • Must pass an assessment evaluating math, reading comprehension, and spelling.

Responsibilities

  • Foster a safe, supportive environment for students.
  • Promote inclusive, welcoming culture that values diversity.
  • Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate activities for whole-child development.
  • Monitor attendance and participation to ensure engagement.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • Collaborate with staff to plan events that celebrate achievements.
  • Submit program materials in a timely manner and adhere to budget.
  • Comply with safety procedures and required trainings.
  • Attend off-site field trips as needed.
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and report daily.
  • Participate in professional development (approx. 15 hours) on weekends and intersession days.
  • Work with Site Coordinator and Program Manager to fulfill responsibilities.
