Job summary

Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges in Maplewood, New Jersey is seeking a part-time Program Supervisor to oversee after-school activities and staff supporting youth. The role requires promoting safety, coordinating daily routines, and delivering a balanced curriculum with fitness, nutrition, STEAM and social-emotional learning.

You will work closely with families and school staff, ensure proper attendance and health guidelines, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college credits/degree preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with staff, parents and school staff.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain attendance records for students and staff and report absences.
• Ensure safety of children by following supervision standards and head counts.
• Sign in/out children with authorized contacts and record times.
• Lead daily activities, snacks, homework support and cleanup as needed.
• Lead monthly fire drills and complete required documentation.
• Plan weekly curriculum with physical activities, nutrition education, STEAM and SEL.
• Promote YMCA programs and assist with special events.
