Job summary

La Allstars in Los Angeles is seeking a Part-Time Program Leader to support after-school academic, cultural and recreational enrichment for K-12 students. Core hours are 2:00pm-6:30pm, with potential evenings and weekends.

Under supervision of the Program Coordinator, you will ensure a safe, engaging environment, manage supplies, track attendance and coordinate with school staff and guardians to enhance program quality and community visibility.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in after-school or youth outreach settings.
• Ability to work cooperatively with School District staff, parents and community leaders.
• Familiarity with after-school program quality criteria.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to incidents and emergencies.
• Must be 18 years old and have required educational credentials and clearances.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementation of the daily after-school program under supervision.
• Maintain a 20:1 ratio using dynamic student recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff to increase program visibility.
• Provide attendance tracking data and program progress updates as part of quality improvement.
• Prepare supplies and materials for activities; monitor and report supply needs.
• Facilitate age-appropriate learning experiences and supervise students during activities.
• Maintain professional attitude and communication with stakeholders; attend staff meetings.
• Supervise field trips and events as needed; distribute and track supper/snack per protocols.
• Maintain spaces and equipment; report hazards; ensure safety standards are met.
• Be available for evenings and weekends; travel for trainings and meetings.
• Participate as part of a team to support program-wide goals and perform other duties as assigned.
