Job summary

Capitol Language Services is seeking a Program Coordinator and Assistant Coordinators to join our team at a Washington, DC school. You will uphold our mission and policies while ensuring smooth after-school program operations.

Represent CLS to staff, parents, and students, supervise daily activities, maintain rosters, address behavior, and report safety concerns to the CLS office. The role requires setup, safety protocols, and timely documentation.

Qualifications

  • AA degree in education or related required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • At least one year’s experience in childcare, education, or program coordination.
  • At least two years experience in a supervisory position.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using tablets and technology for program operations.
  • Good references from previous employers.
  • Must be willing to undergo a DCPS background check.

Responsibilities

  • Represent CLS and communicate our mission, vision, and policies to staff, parents, and students.
  • Serve as the liaison between on-site staff and the CLS office team, ensuring seamless communication and operations.
  • Supervise daily program activities, ensuring teachers have necessary supplies and parents have a point of contact for concerns.
  • Maintain accurate rosters and ensure all children are accounted for during program hours.
  • Address behavioral issues and support teachers in classroom activities as needed.
  • Immediately report any staff misconduct, child safety concerns, or emergencies to the CLS office team.
  • Set up and maintain program materials and equipment daily, ensuring organization and functionality.
  • Monitor and enforce safety protocols, including allergy management and first aid procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding child absences, incidents, and behavioral concerns.
  • Complete daily reports and incident documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Support program setup and cleanup routines to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
