Job summary

Keene Family YMCA is seeking an Out of School Time Coordinator to supervise a group of children in a school-age setting and provide a positive, engaging experience for youth and families within the Y’s core values.

The role emphasizes safety, relationship-building, and quality programming, with responsibilities including staff supervision, meetings, and adherence to all YMCA policies. Seasonal, part-time role with a focus on community impact.

Qualifications

  • At least 21 years old.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Minimum of 1 year supervising 3+ staff.
  • 3+ years' experience working with youth, preferably in a school-age setting.
  • Behavior management experience within a school, childcare, camp setting or parenthood preferred.
  • 2-4 years' experience working with children with cognitive and developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse Prevention training within the first 30 days of hire.
  • Completed health form within the first 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Builds personal and meaningful relationships with YMCA members, participants, volunteers, and guests while upholding the four-character values of caring, honesty, respect & responsibility.
  • Supervises and supports OST program at all locations.
  • Supports and trains staff in planning engaging, enrichment-based, age-appropriate activities.
  • Provides leadership to co-staff.
  • Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
  • Attends staff meetings, trainings, and dedicated events.
  • Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including medical and disciplinary procedures, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Fulfills any other functions designated by the YMCA Administration.
