Job summary

The YMCA in Worcester, MA is seeking an Out of School Time Coordinator to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum while ensuring health and safety. You will supervise staff, recruit volunteers, and collaborate with parents and community partners to maximize program impact.

You will evaluate children's progress, maintain licensing records, and help expand program activities within the community. This role requires strong leadership and effective communication.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Bachelor’s degree related to youth development or education preferred.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience with children under 13, including at least 1 year in admin supervisory capacity.
• Oral, auditory and written communication skills suitable for interaction with children and adults.
• Strong leadership, conflict resolution and diplomacy skills.
• Ability to direct daily administrative, program-related, and supervisory responsibilities of the Afterschool Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting diverse staff and volunteer teams across multiple dimensions of diversity; onboard and develop them for success; maintain staff schedules and evaluate performance.
• Model relationship-building with staff, parents, caregivers, and community organizations to maximize program impact; maintain clear communication.
• Develop relationships with schools and community stakeholders to communicate goals and concerns about student needs.
• Evaluate children’s progress and complete EEC progress reports bi-annually.
• Ensure programs meet community needs; supervise activities; assist in marketing and distribution of program information.
• Promote a team concept and maintain ongoing communication with supervisor and YMCA staff.
