Job summary

La Allstars in Los Angeles, CA seeks a Part-Time Program Leader for the After-School program. The role supports academic, cultural and recreational enrichment, ensuring a safe environment for youth in a school setting.

The position requires experience with K-12 youth, collaborative work with school staff and guardians, and the ability to manage activities and emergencies. Evening/weekend availability and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with K-12 students in recreational, educational and/or community youth outreach settings.
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with School District staff, parents and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after school programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to critical incidents.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have HS diploma or GED and have passed ASAS-LA Instructional Aide exam or have an Associate degree or higher or two years of college.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under the director.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop positive relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff to increase program visibility.
• Provide attendance tracking data and program progress to supervisor.
• Prepare supplies and create a creative learning environment.
• Ensure safety and supervise students during activities.
• Communicate with staff and guardians about events and student needs.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
