Job summary

La Allstars is seeking a part-time Program Leader in Los Angeles to assist in providing leadership and support in academic, cultural and recreational enrichment for youth in a school setting. You will work under the Program Coordinator to create a safe, inspiring environment and participate in planning daily activities.

Responsibilities include maintaining a 20:1 ratio, fostering positive relationships with students and guardians, and communicating program progress and attendance data.

Qualifications

• Experience with K-12 students in recreational/educational settings.
• Ability to collaborate with school staff, parents and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after-school programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to emergency situations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under supervision.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop positive relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff to increase visibility.
• Communicate attendance data, program progress and concerns to supervisor regularly.
• Prepare a creative learning environment with supplies and materials as needed.
• Supervise students during activities to ensure safety and engagement.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
