Job summary

After-School All-Stars Los Angeles is seeking a Part-time Program Leader for the afternoon program from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Los Angeles, CA. The role offers a $20.50 hourly rate and involves supervising students, planning activities, and ensuring a safe learning environment after school.

Under supervision, you will coordinate with a Program Coordinator, maintain a 20:1 ratio, and support academics, cultural and recreational enrichment for K–12 students.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in grades K-12 in recreational, educational and/or community youth outreach setting.
• Ability to work cooperatively with School District staff, parents and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after school programs.
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to critical incidents in emergencies.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must have high school diploma or GED and/or two years of higher education.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under supervision.
• Maintain a 20:1 student ratio with recruitment and retention strategies.
• Build relationships with youth, guardians, and school staff to increase program visibility.
• Track attendance data and program progress for quality improvement.
• Create a creative learning environment with academic, cultural, and recreational enrichment.
• Supervise students during activities and ensure safety.
• Communicate with school staff and guardians about activities and events.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
• Travel to field trips and events as needed.
• Distribute and track meals per school protocols.
• Maintain space and equipment, reporting hazards.
