Job summary

After-School All-Stars Los Angeles is seeking a Part-Time Program Leader to provide leadership and support in the after-school enrichment program. You will help create a safe, engaging environment for K-12 students in a school setting, following the 2:00 PM–6:00 PM schedule.

With experience in youth programming, you will collaborate with school staff and guardians to maintain a high-quality program. The hourly rate is $20.50, and occasional evenings or weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience with students in K-12 in recreational/educational youth settings.
• Ability to work with school staff, parents and community leaders.
• Familiarity with quality criteria for after-school programs.
• Excellent communication and ability to respond to incidents calmly.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Education: Diploma/GED and/or two years of college or an Associate degree.
• Must pass TB screening and DOJ/FBI Live Scan.
• Physical ability to lead activities.
• Fluency in another language is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and assist in planning and implementing the daily after-school program under the direction of a Program Coordinator.
• Maintain a 20:1 ratio using recruitment and retention strategies.
• Develop and maintain relationships with youth, guardians and school staff to increase visibility.
• Provide attendance tracking data and program progress as part of QC processes.
• Prepare supplies and materials for enrichment activities.
• Facilitate active and engaging learning experiences appropriate for age.
• Supervise students during program activities to ensure safety and support.
• Communicate with school staff and guardians about activities and events.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Supervise field trips and events as needed.
• Distribute and track supper/snack per school protocols.
• Maintain program spaces and report hazards.
