Job summary

Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-Time Extended Day Aide to support after-school care for school-age children. You will help create an inclusive, safe environment and assist with planned activities and individualized student support, within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include direct guidance, planning with the Program Director, communicating with families, and attending staff training.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience working with children in educational, recreational, or camp settings.
• High school diploma or equivalent; BA/AA in Education preferred.
• Coursework: 6 semester hours (90 clock hours) in child development/curriculum planning.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• 6+ months supervised experience with school-age children in a licensed setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized support to assist with specific needs and peer engagement.
• Participate in planning sessions with the Program Director to implement activities and support strategies.
• Maintain open communication with the Program Director about children, families, and team members.
• Stay active and involved with program activities and spaces.
• Establish and nurture partnerships with families.
• Abide by Wonders policies and participate in staff training and events.
