Job summary

Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day in Washington, DC is seeking a Part-Time Extended Day Aide to support before and after-school care for school-age children. You will foster a safe, inclusive environment and work as part of a collaborative team implementing program planning and child-focused activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience with children in educational, recreational, or camp setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; higher education preferred.
• 6+ clock hours or 90+ hours in child development coursework; strong emphasis on planning and curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, individualized support to engage with peers, activities and routines.
• Participate in planning sessions and team meetings to implement activities and support strategies.
• Maintain open communication with Program Director about children, families and team members.
• Establish partnerships with families and maintain professional communication.
• Attend at least 12 hours of staff training yearly and work extended hours on school breaks and early release days.
