Job summary

Wonders Early Learning + Extended Day is hiring an Extended Day Aide to support before/after care for school-age programs in Maryland. The role emphasizes being a positive model, providing hands-on experiences, and promoting emotional development while maintaining safe, engaging spaces.

You will implement Wonders policies within a collaborative team, participate in planning, and help with curriculum-aligned activities. Flexible schedule includes extended hours and school breaks.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• Complete Teacher Aide Orientation within 6 months after hire.
• Formal or informal experience with school-age children preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively plan learning activities balanced across all areas and groups.
• Organize and implement policies, procedures, and practices.
• Participate in team planning sessions with Program Director.
• Lead age-appropriate activities aligned with Wonders curriculum and mission.
• Maintain open communication with families and the Program Director.
• Orient and train new team members for center responsibilities.
• Plan and participate in events for children and families.
• Ensure spaces are safe, engaging, and reflect children's lives and diversity.
• Develop behavior management strategies with the team and Director.
• Attend training and work extended hours during breaks and early release days.
