Broward County Public Schools is seeking an Instructional Program Activity Coordinator at Bayview Elementary in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The position requires a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience with school-age children, plus training in safety and child care standards.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience working with school-age children in a group supervision setting preferred.
• Within the first year of employment, complete the Child Abuse and Neglect training, and attain First Aid and CPR certification and maintain certification.
• Within the first year of employment attend at least ten hours of approved Before and After School Child Care training.
• Ten hours of BASCC approved training is required each additional year of employment.
• Computer skills required as needed for the position.
• Demonstrated appropriate personal characteristics for working with children, youth and adults.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Before and After School Child Care Quality Standards.
• Write, plan, and oversee developmentally appropriate activities aligned to SIT plan.
• Develop a scope and sequence for activities on the school calendar.
• Create weekly written lesson plans and present plans for approval.
• Generate orders for materials and submit to supervisor for approval.
• Maintain and distribute materials and supplies for activities.
• Train staff presenting activities with coaching and feedback for program improvement.
• Provide direct instruction to students and supervise staff.
• Enforce BASCC site behavior management plan and ensure safety.
• Assist supervisor in training staff on BASCC Quality Standards.
• Ensure compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies.
• Participate in trainings to enhance skills.
• Follow developments in the field and review related literature.
• Follow all safety rules and school district policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
