Job summary

Broward County Public Schools is seeking an on-site staff member for its Before and After School Care program. The role focuses on safe, enriching activities and supervision of participating children in a school setting.

The incumbent will implement district standards, supervise play areas, and engage with parents while coordinating with fellow staff to maintain a supportive, non-punitive environment and ensure safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience working with school-age children in group supervision is required.
• Within the 1st year, complete BASCC Comprehensive Child Care Components I and II.
• Within the 1st year, complete Florida My Florida SNP-10, UDAP-5, SAP-5 modules (PSP not acceptable).
• At least 10 hours of BASCC Child Care training per year is required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the Before and After School Child Care Quality Standards.
• Directly supervise or facilitate activities to provide appropriate experiences for children.
• Set and maintain positive behavior standards using non-punitive methods.
• Provide supervision of play areas and communicate with parents as needed.
