Job summary

Housing Trust Group is seeking a Leasing Consultant to promote a positive image of the community and assist with resident programs and retention. The role requires knowledge of Affordable Housing programs and strong leasing skills.

You will handle showings, applications, leases, and stay compliant with tax and rental laws while delivering excellent resident service. This is an on-site position requiring flexibility for overtime and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Excellent telephone and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Apartment management and/or sales experience is required.
• Experience with Affordable Housing programs is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain detailed knowledge of the apartment community and its amenities.
• Provide daily show apartment/model inspections.
• Lease apartments: greet prospects, tour, close sale, process applications, type leases, obtain signatures before move-in.
• Document prospect contacts; complete market survey.
• Maintain an acceptable closing ratio.
• Collect and secure rental payments.
• Prepare reports: market survey, locator log, commission sheets.
• Assist in marketing and monitor advertisements; document traffic sources; assist leasing events and promotions; daily postings to approved sources.
• Maintain organized office files and knowledge of Fair Housing laws.
• Assist in inspecting vacant apartments and prepare them for leasing.
• Promote resident retention through renewals; report maintenance issues.
• Adhere to safety policies and be available for overtime as needed.
