The role focuses on supporting material, component and system development for hypersonic flight vehicles, working with a highly technical team to tackle complex challenges. You will generate aerothermal boundary conditions, assess material response, analyze trajectories, and perform survivability analyses, contributing to designs and manufacturing inputs while

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in aerothermal or related field.
• BS in Aerospace Engineering or related technical field.
• Secret DoD Clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Experience supporting R&D activities.
• Experience developing thermal boundary conditions from flight trajectory data.
• Experience performing CFD analysis using STAR-CCM+.
• Strong communication skills in a technical environment.
• Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.

Responsibilities

• Generate aerothermal boundary conditions for vehicle analysis.
• Assess material response (ablation, decomposition).
• Generate and analyze vehicle trajectories.
• Perform survivability analysis and establish operational bounds.
• Design components and subsystems enabling vehicle performance.
• Generate derived requirements for materials and components informing manufacturing and integration.
