Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Huntsville is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist, Aerospace Engineer- Thermal Analysis to lead SRM thermal and fluids analysis. You will conduct CFD and heat transfer studies, apply ACE/CMA tools, and work on propulsion system design and ablation assessments.

The role requires strong technical leadership, solid rocket motor knowledge, Fortran and Python scripting, and the ability to obtain a US security clearance. Travel approx. 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior thermal design experience.
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior thermal design experience.
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior thermal design experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects and manage technical execution in propulsion thermal analysis.
• Perform CFD and thermal analyses using ACE, CMA, and other tools for SRM components.
• Develop heat transfer and fluid dynamics models for SRM propulsion systems.
• Support test activities and data processing for engine qualification.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders on technical solutions.
