Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer – Aerothermal & Hypersonics to own high-speed aerodynamic and aerothermal design for hypersonic and atmospheric entry systems. This role targets 5–7+ years of experience turning complex aerospace work from concept through design, analysis, test, and fielding into scalable capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–7+ years of professional aerospace engineering experience.
• Experience leading projects from concept through implementation.
• Hypersonic aerodynamic design experience and related analysis.
• Strong aerothermal and TPS knowledge; heat-shield familiarity a plus.
• Proficiency with CFD and aerothermal tools listed above.

Responsibilities

• Lead hypersonic vehicle shaping and aero/aerothermal trades.
• Predict aerodynamic heating and support TPS design.
• Develop TPS concepts, materials, and thermal performance assessments.
• Perform trajectory-informed aerothermal environment predictions.
• Collaborate with structures, propulsion, and systems engineering.
• Build models, run trade studies, document assumptions and conclusions.
• Establish and validate ground aerothermal/TPS test approaches.
