Job summary
Mach Industries in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Aerospace Engineer – Aerothermal & Hypersonics to own high-speed aerodynamic and aerothermal design for hypersonic and atmospheric entry systems. This role targets 5–7+ years of experience turning complex aerospace work from concept through design, analysis, test, and fielding into scalable capabilities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
- 5–7+ years of professional aerospace engineering experience.
- Experience leading projects from concept through implementation.
- Hypersonic aerodynamic design experience and related analysis.
- Strong aerothermal and TPS knowledge; heat-shield familiarity a plus.
- Proficiency with CFD and aerothermal tools listed above.
Responsibilities
- Lead hypersonic vehicle shaping and aero/aerothermal trades.
- Predict aerodynamic heating and support TPS design.
- Develop TPS concepts, materials, and thermal performance assessments.
- Perform trajectory-informed aerothermal environment predictions.
- Collaborate with structures, propulsion, and systems engineering.
- Build models, run trade studies, document assumptions and conclusions.
- Establish and validate ground aerothermal/TPS test approaches.
