Job summary

Viasat in California is seeking a Wire Harness Designer to join our team. You will design cables and harnesses, create wire lists, assembly drawings, specify connectors and wire types, and collaborate with systems, electrical, test and operations engineering to produce quality, manufacturable products.

The role requires an Associate of Science in technology or related field (or 2+ years in aviation/space), strong SolidWorks skills, knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620, and the ability to travel up to

Qualifications

Associate degree or 2+ years in aviation/space applications.
Solid experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD wire harness design tools.
Strong oral and written skills.
Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
Understanding of electrical schematics.
Experience creating fabrication drawings and BOMs.
Familiarity with PLM/Agile platforms.
US citizenship required.
Up to 15-20% travel.

Responsibilities

Generate sophisticated cable and harness design packages for aviation and space applications.
Participate in group discussions.
Assist programs in identifying critical components and design features and challenges.
