Job summary

Viasat in Englewood, CO is seeking a Wire Harness Designer to design cables and harnesses for aviation and space products. You will generate wire lists, assembly drawings, specify connectors and wire types, and collaborate with systems, electrical, test and operations engineering teams to ensure a quality, manufacturable product.

The role requires an Associate of Science in technology or related field or 5+ years in aviation/space, proficiency with SolidWorks or comparable CAD tools, knowledge

Qualifications

Associate degree or 5+ years in aviation/space applications.
Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD tools for harness design.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Solid understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and electrical schematics.
Experience with fabrication drawings and BOM creation.
Familiarity with Agile or other PLM platforms.
US citizenship required.

Responsibilities

Generate cable and harness design packages for aviation and space applications.
Participate in group discussions and design reviews.
Assist programs in identifying critical components and design challenges.
