Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an experienced mechanical/electrical test systems designer to develop and operate electrical test equipment for New Glenn avionics qualification. You will model, configure, and release test hardware in PLM, while coordinating with designers, technicians, and suppliers to ensure safe, efficient fabrication and long-term operability.

The role requires hands-on aerospace test experience, teamwork in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to safety and inclusion.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on assembly and test of aerospace hardware or systems.
  • U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, or eligible refugee/asylum status.
  • General knowledge of test execution, instrumentation, and manufacturing coordination.
  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Physics or related technical field.
  • Experience with work order management, materials procurement, and production scheduling.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to inclusion and safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

  • 2D and 3D modelling of electrical systems under design.
  • Manage BOM and configurations; release documentation in PLM (Windchill).
  • Configure test setups, fixtures, and instrumentation per plans.
  • Coordinate manufacturing for electrical racks, fixturing, and harnessing.
  • Update documentation with redlines for fabrication.
  • Maintain test equipment and testing area cleanliness.
  • Ensure safe, on-time operations; work with test, flight, and safety hardware.
  • Identify and mitigate cost, schedule, and technical risks.
  • Support development of test procedures and acceptance criteria.
