Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the New Glenn Rocket program. You will develop mechanical designs, create schematics and BOMs, and lead testing with a focus on high-pressure, cryogenic hardware and reusable systems.

You will document analyses, meet ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards, and collaborate with suppliers and operations to ensure quality and on-time delivery in a hands-on environment. The role requires US work eligibility and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

  • BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
  • 3+ years in mechanical design; 3D CAD modeling and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of aerospace requirements, testing, and materials.
  • Experience with valves, actuators, mechanisms, bellows, tubes, latches, and pressurized components.
  • Hands-on problem solving; teamwork and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical component, assembly, and installation designs through full lifecycle from concept to flight and service.
  • Perform tolerance and other analyses to validate designs and review analyses.
  • Participate in integrated product teams to coordinate development and execute plans; initiate procurement activities.
  • Support fabrication, integration, and test activities with engineering expertise and hands-on support.
