Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle, WA is seeking a test systems engineer to develop and test avionics hardware and software for the New Glenn program. You will contribute to hardware and software integration, test equipment, and process improvements to ensure safe, reliable spaceflight.

The ideal candidate has a BS in EE or CS, 5+ years in electronic system testing, strong Python scripting, and experience with EMI/EMC standards, DO-160, and related life-cycle practices.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience developing and/or testing electronic systems or devices.
  • Sound knowledge of electronics, electrical circuit fundamentals.
  • Familiar with programming test equipment for operational usage with a preference for Python scripting.
  • Cognizant of EMI/EMC standards, IEC & automotive standards or equivalent.
  • Familiar with hardware and software development life cycle.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Passion for hands‑on problem solving and avionics integration and test.
  • Flexibility to support weekend shifts or non-standard hours may be required based on program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and test avionics hardware and software in support of manufacturing and qualification.
  • Contribute to test system development for safe, robust flight avionics.
  • Support integration and test activities for the New Glenn program.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure quality and schedule.
