Job summary

RTX's Test Solutions Engineering team within the Hardware Discipline Center is seeking software-focused engineers for onsite roles in Tucson. You will design and build software tools that interface with engineering hardware across the lifecycle, from lab demonstrations to production testing.

Collaborate with systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers, apply OO design, and contribute to reviews and defect resolution using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Qualifications

• Advanced STEM degree by start date.
• Experience developing, testing, or integrating software using one or more programming languages (C, C++, C#, Python, or VB).
• Experience developing, building, and debugging software applications targeting Windows using Visual Studio IDE.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, and integrate object-oriented software applications and test software targeting Windows operating platforms.
• Develop and derive system-level software requirements, operational specifications, and architectural designs.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software applications to ensure rigorous test accuracy, repeatability, and reliability.
• Collaborate closely with systems, electrical, and mechanical engineers to integrate software test tools with specialized hardware instrumentation.
• Participate actively in formal design reviews, code peer reviews, and technical defect resolution.
• Work within structured engineering frameworks applying both Agile and Waterfall development lifecycles.
